The Antiwork - Friday, My Second Favourite F-Word Baseball Cap

The Antiwork - Friday, My Second Favourite F-Word Baseball Cap

$60.00 AUD

A cap positioned within the circulation of language under late capitalism.

The baseball cap — standardised through sport and industrial production — operates as a repeatable form: six panels, curved brim, adjustable closure. Its construction reflects the logics of mass manufacture — modular, scalable, and optimised for distribution.

The embroidered “#antiwork” functions within a system of indexed speech — a phrase structured for circulation, aggregation, and recognition. It is not fixed in meaning, but accumulative, moving across contexts through repetition.

This phrase gestures toward the condition of wage labour: the compulsion to sell labour-power in order to sustain life under a capitalist system. While formally distinct from historical slavery, wage labour is understood as a relation in which the worker produces surplus value — value exceeding the wage received — which is appropriated elsewhere. What appears as exchange is structured by asymmetry - workers under this system become alienated from their labor and the products they create — no longer an expression of individual agency, but a necessity imposed through economic structure.

Constructed from cotton twill, the form remains stable and familiar. Panel seams define the crown; ventilation eyelets maintain breathability. An adjustable strap with metal hardware allows for variation in fit without altering structure. A standardised object, carrying a phrase that reflects the conditions of its own production and circulation.

Colour is reduced to black and white — high contrast, immediately legible, consistent across contexts.
