We create on Gadigal land, and acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation as the Traditional Custodians of the Land.

Citizen Outlier was born in Sydney, Australia -  on land that hums with its own ancient stories, far from the traditional fashion capitals yet deeply connected to the world through movement, migration, and imagination.

From this place on the edge, we champion the new wave of Chinese designers whose work holds tension and tenderness in equal measure. Their pieces are sculptural, experimental, and emotionally textured - garments shaped by diaspora, memory, and the rebellion of creating outside the centre.

Citizen Outlier is for those who live in the in-between, between languages, between histories, between who we were told to be and who we’re becoming. Our collections reflect that fluidity, embracing imperfection, texture, and the subtle poetry of not fully belonging anywhere, yet finding freedom in that state.

More than a store, we’re a platform and a community - a place where designers and wearers meet through shared sensibilities, shared questions, and shared futures. We invite you to wear more than clothing: wear story, wear identity, wear the beauty of being an outlier.

We believe clothing should be accessible across a wider range of sizes. As we work with emerging designers and small production runs, sizing is currently limited, but we are committed to expanding our size range as we grow.

Citizen Outlier is an Australian-based online retailer curating independent fashion designers. We are not the manufacturer of all products sold and work directly with designers and studios to source small-batch collections. We operate as a multi-brand store as an official brand partner and all orders are fulfilled and supported by Citizen Outlier.
