Long before modern supply chains, Foshan was already a centre of textile production: silk weaving, dyeing, embroidery — systems of labour organised through repetition and precision. Foshan is positioned within the Pearl River Delta, approximately 10 miles southwest of Guangzhou. Guangzhou is a deeply cultural site, in which systems of production coexist with long-standing forms of artistry - the birthplace of Cantonese opera and a locus for martial arts lineages associated with figures such as Ip Man and Wong Fei-hung. The region sustains practices grounded in discipline, iteration, and embodied knowledge.
